Nostalgia -Those Were The Days
Instructions For A Feeling Challenge

Baby Boomers
Baby Boomers are the demographic cohort born between 1946 and 1964, following World War II, a period marked by a significant increase in brith rates. The Boomer generation has had a major impact on society and the economy due to its large size, and they are now entering retirement, influencing economic and political landscapes.
Nostalgia
There are many things, I can think of to be nostalgic about in the Baby Boomer generation. Let me list my favorite.
The Music
From Elvis Presley, The Beach Boys, Roy Orbison. to Chubby Checker, the Everley Brothers, Lesley Gore, just to name a few. There are a lot more of course, and they were all defining of the Baby Boomer generation.
From "Hound Dog", to "Little Deuce Coupe" to "Pretty Woman" to the "Twist", the Baby Boomers had it all.

My Memories
Penny loafers, sock hops, duck tail hair, The Sadie Hawkins Dance, peddle pushers, The Senior Prom, ask Daddy for the keys,
Ah, do you remember these?
Fender skirts, lemonade stands, and cracker jack prizes, boogie man, and taking your tonsils out, the dirty bird, and he's a real gone cat,
Ah do you remember that?
Dancing close, a little moron jokes, and cootie's in her hair, Roy Rogers horse, mum's the word, and the double root beer float, dancing close, and only the shadow knows,
Ah do you remember those?
The Baby Boomers, ah, it was a defining generation, and one that would transcend future generations, with its music, trends, and styles, not to speak of its many sayings.

Fun read! I was born in 64, so just a bit later. Definitely simpler eras.

This is Great!! Thank you for the memories!!πππ
I don't even know what my generation is. I was born in '90, but in Hungary... I guess it would be something different for us, if I'd want to be serious. We just changed from communism not much before I was born, and the Western culture was slowly churning in throughout my childhood. But I love the music from the boomers time. I'm gonna go and listen to some of the songs now. Great writing.
Born in β83, so technically the next generation, but these Boomer memories are basically my childhood soundtrack anyway.
Nice trip down the memory lane, Susan! My mom is a Baby Boomer, born in the USSR, so she has a different set of memories from the Cold War. I am GenX, and my nostalgia is for how much freedom was in the air after the Soviet Union collapsed. Anything seemed possible then.
i felt home in your views!
