Not Yet.

For women sent home carrying only love in their hands.

Not Yet.

You carried a soul beneath your heart,

A little life too soon to start.

-

Though earth could not become their home,

Their spirit never drifts alone.

-

They’re in your smile, they’re in your eyes,

In rainbows born from soft goodbyes.

-

They’ll find their way, when you are ready.

Your body, healed and warm and steady.

-

Between this time the world will show,

Some quiet signs to let you know.

-

You’ll feel them in the evening air,

The gentle breeze that lifts your hair.

-

In sunsets painted pink and gold,

By tiny hands not yet to hold.

-

In every night, keep holding true,

The bright stars shine from them to you.

-

Until then, their path is set.

Their path home to you,

Just not quite yet.
