I am the last to know but the first to tell,
A stuffed animal sitting on the shelf
Perpetually out of rotation, yearning for the bed.
I am soft though and my fur is fresh.
There are stories and worlds yet to be explored
And I could be your loyal steed
If only given the space to speak.
Give me a chance to protect your soul
From the monsters in the dark and I promise
With the light of the stars as my witness
That there is no way for me to fail
When courage knows my name and fear does not.
