Philautia: Self-Love
Love in 50 Words
To love others, we must first love ourselves
At least enough to admit we are worthy of love
If you can see virtue in others
Then find the virtue in yourself
Look deep, past your flaws and vices
And in yourself find something to love
Before finding somebody to love

Self-love is important, because while everyone struggles with self-doubt, it's unfair to expect a friend or partner to somehow fix you just by existing. Partners are not therapists (even if that might be their day job)and friends can't fix you unless you're willing to see the good things in yourself and work to become beter

What beautiful and truthful thoughts on love that you’ve captured so well in poetry form.
My wife likes to point out fairly frequently from the pulpit that the two great commandments of Jesus are actually three: that to love one's neighbor as oneself is to recognize love of self as part of loving God & others. Now, if she & I could just figure out how to accept that for ourselves.
Truly powerful! Self-love it is~
Authentic truth!!! Poetically penned!!!❤️❤️💕
Powerful! I know you've used fifty words, but it feels like you've said so much more.
