Take me with you
I don't care
where we go.
Let's just run
far away
just you and me though.
Let's be children
again
I want to play
and dance.
I'll color you a picture
of London or France.
No stress,
no pain,
making funny faces,
laughing again and again.
Just telling jokes.
two friends
uninhibited
no worries about
unreciprocated desires
no jealousy
between you and me.
Just us
no fear or fright
reclaiming our
lost youth
that they took from us
one night.
I'll let you be Lucy
and I'll be Charlie Brown.
We'll be happy
and peaceful
with no reason to frown.
So take my hand in yours
and let's go and play
no time like the present
let's do it today!

Ready, set, let’s go , love this ❤️
Let's do it!! I'm ready to be a kid again, even if only for one day <3
This is fantastic. Let's do it! Adulting is overrated.
Lucy and Charlie work for this like Calvin and Susie. LMAO. A lovely poem Sam. We all feel this way sometimes. Just leave it all behind and live in a happy bubble of memory.
Great reminder. Great job
Sadly, we lose that sense of innocence - something that we need for comfort - as adults. Poignant, Sam.
We don't stop playing when we get old, we get old when we stop playing. Great poem
Beautiful poem...keep it up
