Regrets And Lost Love
A Unnecessary Line

the scent of cigarette lingered
mingling in the strands of her hair
she had his heart wrapped round' her finger
though he could see, she didn't care
emotionally unavailable
avoiding the conversation that waited
his need for her, insatiable
her name on his breath, sat baited
the need to be sedated
held her against her will
unpredictably hated
with only time left to kill
she'd been in love in stages, her whole life
once he's fixed, she's gonna miss me
he cries.....
wanting the me that she could never see
moss grows on the northside of the rock
an unreliable narrator
casting the dark shadows that haunt
the once mistaken lover
she didn't know she'd want
