Screaming into the Midnight Sky

I have this feeling in my chest

It makes me want to scream into the midnight sky

But if I did they'd tell you I'm insane

Is it because I'm a woman?

If I told you he hurt me and told you the story would you believe me?

You wouldn't

No one believes a single woman over a sought-out bachelor

They'll label his actions as rejection

They'll say I'm being sensitive and ask if it's that time of the month

As if the word period were a swear word

They make excuses for every single one of his actions while I hurt

It's none existent

Because I'm just a women who's insane, right?

The sacrifice

The price he paid for an ego boost

If told you he hurt me and told you the story

You'd say it's my fault

(Guess I'll have to cry myself to sleep since I can't scream my pain into the midnight sky without getting thrown into a mental hospital. But if a man were to scream into the midnight sky, we'd all assume he's just had too much to drink right?)
