Poem about Winter turning into Spring

The darkness of night decided to roll

Back far away as if it were a scroll

The grass is being kissed by the morning dew

Sparkling frost crystals now come into view

Fresh air is crisp with a delicious chill

It's so hot outside I can't sit still

Fingers and toes chilled to the bone

Shivering, I stand in the elements alone

Connected to nature yet so out of touch

Longing for the warmth I need so much

As morning pushes back the night

I bask in the glow of precious sunlight

That appears in the midst of the cold

Atmosphere that once was bold

Now it bows to a new day

And for a while will stay away

The freezing temperatures Winter brings

Soon must yield to a fresh new Spring
