I was introduced to Finnish style saunaing in my thirties by my husband-to-be – it took some getting used to, but now I just love it!

It’s hot!

I love it though,

this steam bath with my one,

where history is steeped into smooth wood.

Enjoy!

The soothing heat.

Feel the sweat trickle down

naked skin, healing both body and mind.

Leave it!

In the sauna.

Wash away the sticky

burdens with the refreshing shoreline dip.

Splish-Splash!

Into moonlit water,

wash away daily pains,

refreshed by the joy of silver ripples.

Giggle!

Like teenagers

exploring love beneath

security of water and night skies.

It’s Hot!

love poems
