Sometimes I Do Be Like A Firecracker

flashes of light streaking across the sky

scattered ashes and torn bits of paper

a tooth for a tooth and an eye for an eye

an explosion soon followed by vapor

a scene set in motion by fire and smoke

and expectations beyond any measure

tattoos mark the sky like a fine stick and poke

bringing about both panic and pleasure

the words spill from my lips like a faucet that leaks

sometimes I'm surprised by what I'm saying

bringing attention to those hearing me speak

like salvation to those who need saving

ELVIS HAS LEFT THE BUILDING

regret used to follow these outbursts of mine

shock and awe was too much for the masses

but with age I'm refined like a well aged wine

feeling bold? then please, bring your own glasses

I'm beginning to wonder if you are unraveling your spirit and spilling out for us your soul. You are so driven and way more intense and alive poetically than your earlier work. At least what we readers know of it. This is compliment.
