I walked out the door to start my day,
the sun painting the sky as it gloriously rose,
keeping last night's promise.
Coffee, music, and forbidden cigarettes,
eastbound on highway 74,
approaching the river,
driving into the blanket of fog
rising, air colder than water creating
a thick, enveloping hush--
whole world insulated
from external sound,
which carries differently
on the water.

Great. The imagery of the rising sun, the fog, and the stillness of the water creates a peaceful yet introspective atmosphere. It feels like stepping into a brief pause from the world—simple, sensory, and deeply evocative.
Evocative and vivid. Love this and that is a fucking belter of a shot. Belter is a good thing btw in Glaswegian vernacular.
