Black to black. Eyes shut.

Night meets water cyclically.

Magic interferes.

Flickers on the sink.

Snapshot from extinction’s brink.

Photons off The Pier.

Human alchemy.

Salvation and travesty:

A rainbow of tears.

Forged by ambition,

a global exhibition.

Agent engineered.

“Seek and you shall find:

Galaxies of grand design.

The final frontiers."

Quantum observing.

The universal learning.

Seen, therefore, it’s here.

*Without life’s witness,

The Universe is Abyss.

Black to black. Eyes shut.

Ekphrastic

I love how this does feel like it keeps glancing off a collective consciousness. Not glancing off. Swooshing through.

Nice QM piece ... great photo of those "photons off the pier"

Reminds me of the quantum physics observer effect, in which just observing or measuring a quantum system alters its properties. To be observed is to exist (if a tree falls in the forest, does it make a sound). A very philosophical take on a gorgeous photo. Great job.

Nice!!! Love the poems message. Crazy to think about all of space and time being here without observers. -Magic interferes- Yes it does and has! Bravo, Caroline!

  • I didn't realise it was Whitby, but it is great when we get these images and it is a great stepping off point for your excellent words, no doubt a Top Story

A marvelous ekphrastic! I am still skeptical about the "to be is to be perceived" notion, but the strange truth does not need my assent to be itself.

Beautiful poem for a beautiful place - absolutely love Whitby! Can’t wait to visit again
