Hirundo Rustica, Proper Name
Passerine Songbirds, Now See Them Fly
Hear Their Song, Summer Is Here Agin

So Perfectly Shaped, Beautiful Birds
When You Try And Describe Their Beauty
Though You May Try, You Can Find No Words
Watch Them Sweep Through The Air As They Fly

To See The Swallows' Beautiful Form
Will Raise You Spirits And Make You Smile
Darting Up And Down Through Sun And Storm
Flying Through Our Skies, Mile After Mile

Swallows are fun to watch.
Oooo, Rustica sounds like a pretty name for a girl! Loved your Sonnet!
Great use of repetition! A wonderful muse!
Wonderful sonnet, Mike. As always.
Excellent sonnet, Mike, and a fine subject. Swallows are fairly prolific here, and the Barn Swallows, in particular, are strikingly colorful. There's a river bridge not too far from town that shelters hundreds of nests. It's one of my favorite photo shoot trips, but I need a better birding lens.
