lips bent in borrowed happiness was such a great opening line! (And a brilliant closer, too) I was immediately sucked into the melancholy and loneliness of the poem.
Cristal, the way you handle repetition here feels confident and intentional. You let the pantoum do its quiet work while trusting the emotion to deepen instead of escalate. It reads like you understand restraint just as well as indulgence and that balance gives the poem its heat.
Fantastic. Ambiguous enough to give mystery but also the emotions and tension and shame is palpable. Great stuff Cristal
