Take Care

A poem in the form of a conversation.

How could you be gone?

So sure that I've left?

Haven't you?

Is that what you think this is?

What, like it isn't a colossal joke?

Don't you remember?

The lies or the fights?

How could you forget?

Was it important?

Is breath?

I wasn't worth remembering, huh?

How could you think I'd forget you?

Had you given me a reason to think otherwise?

So the note didn't count for a penny did it?

There was a note?

Why did I even bother writing the damn thing?

Are...you sure there was a note?

Do you think I'm crazy?

I mean, could you have only meant to write it?

Did I hallucinate putting it in your laptop?

My laptop that got stolen?

Your laptop got stolen?

I wasn't ever careful, was I?

So you never saw my letter?

How could I have?

It never had a chance, did it?

Do you really think so?

I think you wanted me to go, right?

And be alone in the middle of a new city?

Wasn't it your choice to move?

When did I stop listening to you?

Did you ever listen to me, really listen?

I should have read the note.

You should have been more careful.

So many questions; not enough answers.

  • Misunderstandings from the soul. You give me strength to perhaps write again; you're amazing.

  • But at least they managed to talk about it and realise what actually happened. That's good, I guess. Loved your poem!

Oh my. I the ink many conversations are like this so you nailed it. Some work through it but others end it and each are right. Great job; I loved it!

This ached throughout. Felt very real, achey and poignant. Revolving around regretful feelings that are easier to see in hindsight. fantastic stirring work, Silver!
