Tangerine

Skeletons

By Harper LewisPublished about 11 hours ago 1 min read

I saw the gods languishing in honeyed sunlight with big tits Happenstance and the flat-chested Fates:

spinning

measuring

cutting

subliminal sublime sunlight slinking into the recesses of that nook buried deep in the bottom corner of the basement of your heart,

illuminating everything you thought you lost when you cashed in your chips for a Disney cruise,

those azure waters holding a city afloat, a fantasy sailing on the surface of my eyes, your favorite swimming pools.

I don’t know how you got broken, don’t like remembering how I did, just remember the ecstasy of those broken parts fitting together like daggers into sheaths, how the light came from within.

Did you see the shadows cast, or did you taste the marrow of their hollow bones, obscene skeletons tangoing like they know the echoes of a tangerine being peeled slowly, the skin scrolling away from the crescents of juicy heaven to form an empty globe?

You had me at “big tits Happenstance and the flat-chested Fates” - I adore your modernization as you tie it to a specific setting. Really wonderful!

  • I was wondering if this was the film, but no, we descend into the workshop of the fates. Excellent tale
