The Bright Lights of the City

he took mud and gravel and sand

and built structures oh so grand

elevated people high above

disconnecting them from

God’s earth of love

he fed them corpses piece by piece

and choked them on fear as they attempted ease

through tv boxes they were powerless to cease

and music played in the notes of disease,

he grouped them together as they fell sick

to finish them off nice and quick,

oh humans, oh humans

how do you fail to see

the devils blueprint

in every city?

"music played in the notes of disease" I especially loved those lines and the question at the end!

so completely relevant, and I loved the structure you chose

  • Apropos to these times indeed.
