I don't want to be the villain in your story,

But if that's the mask you want me to wear,

The role you need me to play.

Let me put the Joker mask on,

Slide the smile across my face like a lie made pretty.

You can call it an act.

Say that I am just pretending.

I'll perform a role.

Throw on another costume,

Before the final curtain call.

    I definitely got Heath Ledger Joker vibes from this poem with a splash of Joaquin Phoenix Joker mixed in. Creepy yet also sad and slightly bitter and resigned. Nicely done.
