I borrowed a mirror and embarked on a quest to truly discover myself
I saw a wonderful sight
I saw countless characters being played their roles
All those faces were mine, but I was not among them
I saw myself wandering,
Chasing countless possibilities in every direction
Saw myself drifting away from my soul
I was wrapped in light, looking for brightness
I was illuminated by light but was afraid of the darkness
Many sad faces of mine were seeking sympathy
Many smiling faces were hungry for praise
I found myself alone in a desolate world
Where I could see my existence being mocked
I was the king of those fake characters,
but still, I was their slave
I wanted to see a real glimpse of myself
But even there I was confused,
any faces appeared before me
I could not recognize myself among them
I was lost, this was the only reality
The mirror I borrowed to know my inner reflection
Now it's time to return it back
This momentary journey set me on a quest for a purpose
In search of myself, the only purpose left is
A search of self.

I don't often enjoy poetry, but I really appreciated this. It's beautiful and very relatable for all.
This was remarkable, your search for self is a very interesting one. You said it led you to many faces and you didn’t see yourself among them. I’m thinking that could mean that you’ve done the hard stuff, now you’re on the other side.
I made a mental note to come and find this because of the image, now that I am here, I am about to have a read. I’m excited, will comment again.
I was the king of those fake characters, but still, I was their slave Hit me hard ! I mean man come on! You write way better than me. No words to explain it's context! There is so much covered in this poem that reflects the inner of self. The way you described so many faces in the mirror left me speechless !
In a desolate world, amidst laughter and cheer, You define your own grace, and let go of fear.
