Missing keys

Strips of paper fly wildly in the wind. Pieces of a memory, a message disappearing into the world beyond. They swirl around like a magical mystery, dancing to unknown destinations. No one will know now the secrets that were written in the dark. The memory of what was forgotten. The pieces fly far and wide away from each other. Soon they’ll be completely destroyed by the natural elements. This message could have changed so much if only someone had been able to read it before he changed his mind. Now it is lost. Now no one will ever know. Now the current path of the grey mundane will continue.

But oh! A child. A small, seemingly insignificant child. Playing with the papered confetti. Gathering up each piece like a treasure trove. She dances and runs, searching far and wide for all the pieces of the message. This message was meant to be hidden, meant to go unseen. The ways of the world were meant to continue. But now it is too late. The truth is out there. What lies beneath has been brought out of the shadows and into the light.

The missing keys are coming together to unlock what should have always been.
