The Ring

By: Heather Mitchell Manheim

By Heather Mitchell ManheimPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

Where did it begin?

Perhaps it was

When you pointed out Orion, and

Like a hunter, you captured my heart.

Or maybe when we heard Shakespeare,

Whilst sharing wine and bread,

And we really didn’t hear a word.

Or when you said I had a pretty face,

Just as it was,

With no makeup to adorn it.

It’s impossible to know

Impossible to say

When it started.

It is

Like a ring, a band of love

Around our hearts

Around our lives

Around us

It has no beginning,

It has no end,

One continuous loop

Of love.

The beginning is impossible to say,

Since it always was,

Always is,

And always will be.
