The Road

A Limerick about Life

I’ve never traveled this way before.

What lies ahead? I implore.

I’m leaving the past behind.

You begged me to stay, but I’ve made up my mind.

To begin a new life and more.

~~~~~~~~
The limerick challenge sounded like a lot of fun, and after a couple of friends encouraged me, I decided to give it a try. I'm not a poet and this is my first attempt at writing limericks. I wrote four, two of which are reflective while the other two are a bit humorous. This one came to me this morning and was inspired when planning an upcoming novel.
Hope you enjoy reading it as well as my other submissions.
