The warm cast of the glowing sun
can't seem to reach past
The Failing Dreams of Tomorrow.
.
Every ray shines down
and reveals a "forgotten" result.
A result that I didn't want to be.
.
They uncover the holes,
the goals I hadn't bothered to reach,
every flaw I haven't learned to work with me,
and show exactly the tasks I left
for some other day.
.
In the warming, glowing sun,
hesitant steps are made
as I try to accept the "forgotten" result.
Tiny steps that freeze when the wind hits my back.
.
Even when Certainty stands
dead ahead on my path,
with arms outstretched,
Her cooing voice
can't seem to overpower
the dread of Tomorrow.
.
But still the rays shine
with each new day,
regardless if I moved ten miles
or merely ten steps,
welcoming an incoming change.
Glowing down on each
hesitant step made.
