The White Crane Speaks
A Huitian for Peace
This is for Mikeydred's April Prompt and Natasha's poetry prompt.
It is the International Day of Multilaterism and Diplomacy for Peace, established by the UN to promote peaceful relations between countries.
It isn't just the dove which strives for peace---we have another less celebrated bird, the crane. Help him do the same.

The crane once fought the fire and wind
Dark ribbons marred his wings of truth.
He called to winds, no name within,
And in their noise, muffled his wrath.

One grand morn, he found a tree,
Of olives, charred by past regrets.
Learned to be still, to simply be,
He found his peace where eve's sun set.

I think I like the crane better than the dove as a symbol. Doves are basically just pigeons, right?
I love this. So many animals are always an example of what humans should be..
love this, Michelle <3
Well-wrought! Here we have the Great Blue Heron, whom I often stumble upon in my wanderings, on the shores of a pond here and there, even in this dirty city. I stop and try not to get too close, because they tend to fly off, and I love watching them stalk the lake, or meditate in the midst of the waters. I offer this piece I wrote a while back as an example and because it resonates, but there's no obligaton to read: https://todaysurvey.shop/stories/the-great-blue-heron%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E%3C/p%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3Cdiv class="css-w4qknv-Replies">
