Who is that girl with the strange eyes?

Those who know her say

They can be described

like pools of violet.

An ocean when she’s excited

or full of bliss.

a shade of mauve

When she's singing in the car

carefree

But when she’s frustrated

the tide changes abruptly

Then a deep purple settles over

Like a shadow

Whether you know her or you don’t

You know that

when they sparkle

They are like sunbursts of energy

The eyes can be the window

To the soul

Sometimes hers are the window

into her storm

But nonetheless

They are her story to be told

surreal poetry
