I wonder what the viper listens to when she is studying so ruthlessly
I do not wish to trespass against her determination to prove everyone wrong,
But still, I will lay late at night and think
"Who is she really doing it for?"
I didn't originally notice how her fangs were blunter than when we first met
And I knew it would be a fragile subject,
Like how her last skin shed meant her scales lost their sheen and shine.
It's honestly disheartening to know such a courageous and curious mind
Is running laps around the same four rules she's always known
Too preoccupied to realise that her fangs are powerful
Her scales; beautiful
And everything everyone else is thinking; a petty and rushed disguise.
