Wake Up And Smell The Spring
It’s just around the corner

Wake Up And Smell The Spring
Wake up.
Open the window wide.
Let the morning step inside
without knocking.
The air has changed.
It carries something softer now,
a green whisper rising from the soil,
a promise pushing through the cold.
Smell it.
That clean, bright scent of new beginnings.
Grass daring to grow again,
buds brave enough to open.
Winter had its say.
It took its time, it stayed too long.
Still, the earth did not give up,
and neither did we.
Listen to the birds rehearsing joy,
no audience needed.
They sing because they can,
because they are here.
Thank God for breath in your lungs.
For light across your face.
For another ordinary morning
that is anything but ordinary.
Feel your feet on steady ground.
Feel your heart doing its quiet work.
So much happens without applause,
yet it keeps you alive.
Wake up and notice.
The world is not perfect,
still it turns towards warmth,
still it chooses to bloom.
And so can you.

What a perfect Springtime poem, Miss Marie. But where I live that was only one month of cold weather with just heavy frost but that was it. How I wanted snow so bad.
