What Is True Release?

True release isn't about no longer crying; it's about being able to look back on it all with a smile.

You'll still have feelings, and you'll still have regrets, but you'll come to understand the reasons for those regrets. You'll understand that your regrets aren't the other person's. You can still cherish those memories and that relationship. The most precious thing about that relationship is the innocence and growth we experienced within it.

I hope that relationship ultimately becomes the reason for our mutual happiness, not an obstacle. You parted in tears, and now, with a smile of understanding, you finally get it.

Release isn't forgiveness; it's understanding—understanding that we truly weren't meant for each other. Release isn't letting go; it's setting off, moving toward the happiness that truly belongs to you.
