Title: When Black Turns to Blue

[Verse 1]

The black fades to blue, bleeds right on through,

Yesterday’s sorrow just cut me in two.

I said anything, everything, but never goodbye,

Now the roses are dead where our love used to lie.

I close my eyes, it’s all guns and roses,

A love like ours just decomposes.

You’re dreaming in silence, I’m wide awake,

Holding this pillow like it’s all I can take.

[Pre-Chorus]

Letters pressed to my lips, but they’ll never reach you,

Salt on my tongue from the tears that I chew.

Every night I die just to live in a dream,

Where you’re still in my arms, where it ain’t what it seems.

[Chorus / Hook]

’Til death do us part—but death came too soon,

I’m a broken man howling at the moon.

The thief took your heart, didn’t care what it cost,

Left me with ashes and all that I lost.

You fell from heaven, straight into hell,

With the devil in boots and a smile that sells.

No more to do, no prayer to pray,

Just a vow in the dirt and a love gone away.

[Verse 2]

The whiskey don’t burn like the truth in my veins,

The bed’s still warm, but it screams your name.

I taste your sin on a stranger’s lips,

Feel your ghost in my fingertips.

He played his part with a heart of stone,

Left me here dying in a house not a home.

You turned from an angel to a shadow and smoke,

And I’m choking on every damn word you spoke.

[Pre-Chorus]

One day a price will come knocking for you,

The reaper’s patient, but he always gets his due.

And me? I’m free, but I’m hardened and done,

With love that bleeds like a loaded gun.

[Bridge]

I can’t forgive, I can’t pretend,

This is the start where the story ends.

My trust is gone, my soul’s been burned,

From the wreckage of a love that never returned.

[Final Chorus]

’Til death do us part—but death came too soon,

I’m a broken man howling at the moon.

The thief took your heart, and he played his part,

Left me with nothing but a shattered heart.

You fell from heaven, now I can’t pray,

Just a vow in the dirt and a love gone away.
