When Seeking Comes Home

By Julie O'Hara - Author, Poet and Spiritual WarriorPublished a day ago 1 min read

Verse 1

I spent years walkin’ circles on the map of my own mind,

Chasin’ something just ahead of me, always one step out of time.

Thought enlightenment was distant, some far‑off holy place,

But every road I followed only led me back to grace.

Chorus

Nirvana ain’t a state and it ain’t a destination,

It don’t live in time or space or any expectation.

It’s the quiet in your chest when you stop runnin’ from the truth,

When you stop grasping what is not and let what is move through.

It’s the moment all your seeking finally lays its burden down—

That’s when you know you never left your true home.

Verse 2

I tried to hold the world together with the strength of my own hands,

Tried to push away the sorrow, tried to rewrite all my plans.

But peace don’t come from fighting, and truth don’t come from force,

It rises when you soften and return to your own source.

Bridge

Maybe heaven’s not above us, maybe it’s the breath we’re in,

Maybe every step we take is just a way of walking in.

Maybe all the doors we open only lead us back inside,

To the place we’ve always been, beneath the noise, beneath the tide.

Final Chorus

Nirvana ain’t a state and it ain’t a destination,

It’s the soul remembering itself without hesitation.

It’s the stillness in your bones when you stop trying to atone,

When the seeker disappears and the knower stands alone.

It’s the moment all your longing finally finds its way back home—

And you remember you have never been alone.
