When the Pens Run Out

No Ink

We keep writing

Wondering if this will ever end

We use our pens and keep thinking of something that will not be pretend

We all want a new idea

But nothing seems clear

Maybe we are held back by fear

Or what we really know we hold too dear

But we keep putting something down

Unsure of how anything will sound

Yet there is more to be found

Thoughts continuing to go around

Yet still the ink keeps pouring

Stories that are never boring

All these things that we can't be ignoring

Yet certain ideas are still thawing

Such ideas we don't want to doubt

But nothing will happen if everyone decides to slouch

Some have wondered if the writers will experience a drought

But what will they do when the pens run out
