Why can't I experience,
Life at a distance.
Tried persistence,
Only met resistance.
I'd like another chance,
To find the romance.
Lying hidden within,
This weathered skin.
A flower waiting to bloom,
Feeling impending doom.
The same routine,
repeating the scene.
Everyday battling,
Trying to stay clean,
Misery smiling at me.
Yet I keep climbing,
Striving and Rising,
Driving me forward.
The Path long, and winding,
I keep finding cliffs to jump off,
I'm flying now,
Floating,
Falling straight down.
Face first to the ground,
Battered, and Bruised,
Safe and sound.
No one else around,
I stare into the distance,
Baffled by what I found.
