Will Court Reporting Be Replaced by Technology?
With the rise of robotics, artificial intelligence, and faster and smarter computers, it’s understandable to be worried about your job security. Particularly for jobs that require the ability to listen and understand human speech, such as transcribers and court reporters, it can be extra concerning to see brand new technologies roll out from major companies like Apple, Google, and Amazon that possess the ability to listen to and understand voice commands. That said, it’s hard to imagine that court reporters will be replaced by technology any time soon. That’s because the legal knowledge, discernment skills, and affordability of court reporters offer them great staying power.

Will the Future of Retail Be Augmented?
How many times have we seen it happen in just the span of our own lives? How many times have we seen the stuff of science fiction come to life? How many times have we seen characters in a movie from two decades ago, a decade ago, or heck, even two to three years before do something that was futuristic then but is commonplace today? How many times have we been watching a TV show from a decade or two ago and get frustrated at the plot and yell out, "Why doesn't he just send her a text already!"

Old Ways and Old Devices Die Hard
We all see them around and have them in our organizations. They are the ones who haul around their five-pound company-issued laptop. They are the ones still using a Blackberry—or worse, a flip phone! They are the ones who insist on doing the paper contract, rather than gathering all the digital signatures. They are the ones who insist on flying everyone into Cleveland for a meeting in the middle of winter, rather than conducting a video conference to accomplish the same task.

Splitting Hairs, Everywhere

It’s just an enjoyable way to pass the day, and in the age of working on a second, or even a third screen, four hour college games are not annoying, they are good background noise and entertainment. Dan LeBatard once said that “Sports are the ultimate reality show,” and in the age of ESPN, that is entirely true!

A Theory of Wireless Electricity. Top Story - July 2018.
We discuss the revitalization and development of wireless electricity technologies within our generation. The goal is to show that society is developing wireless technology cautiously and ethically as opposed to the blind pursuit of technology demonstrated by our past.
