A Thanks To You All
For a number of years..., more than I actually like to contemplate at this point in my middle age... I have fancied myself a writer. From the time at the tender age of eight or so when I penned my first couple of science fiction tales, to the time I finished writing and submitted my first actual thriller novel in approximately 2000. Poems uncounted. Silly tales and satire and comedic skits unnumbered. All owing to my blessed departed mother - Alice Faye Haney-McDonald, who taught me to read by the age of four. Books and writing have been a lifestyle despite that my degree is in Applied Mathematics. (Florida Institute of Technology - 1985). Then, something miraculous happened: In October 2021 I joined an online writing site called vocal.media.

An Eclectic Heroic Collection
Stumbling around my home this morning way too early I was once again caught up in the myriad of views available to me within the confines of my own residence. For a number of years now I have been collecting action figures, books (forever), and all types of little statues. My wife collects porcelain dolls. It has been said by various friends and family that I reside in the house of. Thousand eyes. I generally correct said statement in that there are more like 5,000 eyes at least. It makes for a very eclectic look.

A Resolution
For few years now I have been a member of vocal media. As of this very moment, per my profile, I have 555 “stories” here. Of course, in a few minutes when this is posted, that will tick over to 556. I am quite enamored of that fact, to be honest. Still, until yesterday I was using a profile pic of myself from 1985. Said photo is show below:

A Pre-Rescue Confab
Carmen looked around the bar. While the sign on the door said closed, it was populated by old members of her dad’s Leper Squad as well as most of the members of Marauder’s Riders. Their club, the one her father had saved from burning down all those years back, was just two blocks away. They hung out at the Ais in the Hole which apparently was run by another ex-Leper called Lullaby whose real name was Ais something or other. Guess that explains the sign flashing its colorful rainbow in the front window, she thought.
