Christmas: The afterglow effect
Christmas afterglow I began taking note of something that happened each year beginning the day after Christmas. I now refer to it as the "afterglow" effect of the holiday. At first, I thought it might take place because a lot of people took down their trees and decorations and there was less demand for electricity. I first noticed this effect as a teenager and have seen it continue through the decades.

The Young and the Restless could learn from Days of Our Lives how to treat soap vets
The Young and the Restless should respect veteran characters Soap fans who enjoy both Days of Our Lives and The Young and the Restless cannot help but notice the disparity when it comes to older veteran actors. Y&R fired Doug Davidson who had been portraying Paul Williams for 40 years. Fans were outraged and even signed a petition but the powers that be ignored their pleas.

The Young and the Restless: Adam and Nick prove they are Victor's sons
The Young and the Restless: Newman apples don't fall far from the tree One thing that viewers of The Young and the Restless know to be true is that the Newman siblings all at times let the world know by their actions that they are indeed their father's children. Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) is doing just that as she runs the family business and also reminds Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) that she is currently in the driver's seat.

The Bold and the Beautiful: Shelia scorned means Brooke is going down
The Bold and the Beautiful: Recycled storylines Those who watch The Bold and the Beautiful know that the CBS soap likes to continue love triangle long after the fans wish they would come to an end. The writers also resort to the tried and true in other areas when they cannot be creative with storylines. This is what is about to happen to Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) who will bring her misery on herself.

The unbroken connection
The above photo of my husband and I was taken about 7 years ago. My oldest son edited it for the holidays and I used it on my Facebook page. One relative took it to mean I was trying to hold on to my spouse who passed away on March 2021. She basically said I needed to move on because he was gone and would not be my husband in the after life. This woman is still with her husband so she means well but does not know what I am feeling.

General Hospital: William deVry sets the record straight regarding the demise of Julian Jerome
Julian Jerome remains in the hearts of loyal fans William deVry fans continue to talk about him and his horrible departure from General Hospital a little over a year ago and Facebook groups dedicated to the actor continue to share news related to his character Julian Jerome. Each time I think about the manner in which Jerome left this earth I am reminded of Skippy the turtle in the 1973 Disney animated version of Robinhood. When sworn to secrecy the turtle says that if he reveals what he knows "I'll die till I'm dead."

General Hospital: More heartbreak predicted for 2022
General Hospital fans who were hoping the New Year would be brighter in Port Charles will be in for a surprise. Spoilers are indicating that there will be more heartbreak in the New Year. Jasper Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) leaving town and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) being presumed dead were made worse by the fact that both of the soap veterans were fired for refusing the COVID vaccines. Baby Liam Michael's death right at Christmas was devastating both on and off screen and it looks as if things will not brighten up anytime soon.
