Are We Out of F*cks Yet?. Top Story - August 2023. Content Warning.
Disclaimer: I use the word “fuck” fairly often in private conversation, and quite loudly on occasion. (Just ask Pam.) I also use various terms that relate to fellatio and incest, and both male and female genitalia. I'm reasonably sure that I've used “The 'F' Word” somewhere in my Vocal stories. This is a satirical look at the growing prevalence of the term in stories I read on this platform. It may cost me some friends. It's bound to cause some resentment. All I can ask is that you read it with your sense of humor active. If you make it to the end (Don't cheat, dammit!) you might even find a fun little surprise.

The Desk
It was an unassuming, old, wooden desk, tucked in the corner of the garage at the estate sale. Barely visible under the figurines, vases and other items with price tags it held, it had gone unnoticed by dozens of bargain hunters. Somehow, it called to Roger.

Learning to Shut Up
A quick note: The original version of this story was written for the Passing Ships challenge and abandoned because I couldn't find my old survey crew photos. I still haven't found them, but rather than let this go to waste, I dusted it off today and after some inner debate, decided to share it, in the hope that someone gets a kick out of it.

Collier's Junior Classics
A shelf of my own Among Mom's vast collection Adventures within *** I don't know how many readers will be old enough to remember these books. Collier's Encyclopedia was one of the prized collections in my mother's extensive library. The Junior Classics were a "bonus gift" that the salesperson could offer to close the sale. (Encyclopedias were expensive enough then to come with a payment plan and sometimes a subscription plan that allowed you to purchase one volume at a time.)

Your Malapropism is Showing. Top Story - July 2023.
"You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means." ~Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride This little bit of fun was inspired by an article by the very talented Harmony Kent, about homonyms and similar word comparisons that often cause trouble for writers. It's a very well written, informative piece that's more than worth the time to read. It's also the first in a series I'm sure you'll want to follow, so please, go read it:
