I'm Coming Home. Content Warning.
Note: Please read the rather long Author's Note at the end for the origin of this story. Dear Mom and Dad, Home seems a world away as I write this, and I guess, in a way, it is. While I'm writing these words, though, word is going out that we will be stateside within a few days. We have one last task ahead of us and then our tour here in this country is done.

Glass Dolls. Top Story - February 2025.
Spoiler Alert: There aren't any here. One of the best things about writing on Vocal is the support that comes from brilliant creators. Then, of course, there's the privilege of reading their work. I've been a huge fan of L.C. Shäfer's writing since I was fortunate enough to find it here. Given that, it should come as no surprise that Glass Dolls was the first book in print by a fellow Vocal author I purchased.

Quantum Spamativity
It's January 20th, 2025. Inauguration Day. Here in the Panhandle, it's 17 degrees F, with a chill index of -20. When I looked at my Google News feed this morning, I expected to see stories about those 2 items at the top of the list. As it turned out, the top headline was, “[Famous Scientist] Breaks in Tears "Google Quantum Chip Just Shut Down After It Revealed This" ~ Beyond Discovery.

Paul's Happy Little Accident
As a Bob Ross fan from long ago, I've always had a great appreciation for his concept of “happy little accidents,” in painting and in life. So, when I decided to write this review of Paul Stewart's poetry collection, The Accidental Poet, I couldn't help but borrow the phrase.

Devoted, Determined and Deeply Loved
This is one of dozens of photos I have of this very special guy, but it's my favorite for many reasons. Obviously, the light was perfect when I turned and saw it, and it framed up nicely, but the most important part is his intense focus on what you can't see. He's not just watching the sunset.

Hey, It's Me.... Top Story - January 2025.
We're already a week into 2025 and it's long past time I wished all my fellow creators and friends on Vocal a Happy New Year. I haven't been dragging my feet, so much as recovering from the whirlwind of chaos brought by the closing weeks of 2024.
