Family Is Not Mom, Dad And 2.5 Children
Taking a family photo can be difficult. It has to happen at a family gathering and these two photo's were taken when my youngest brother died in March of 2021. My children and their cousins got together for a picture. And several other family photos were taken.

Writing A Poem Or Rhyme Or Two Or Three Every Day For 28 Or 29 Days, Depending On The Year.
My grandson asked that I write him some rap songs. Okay, I said, not having any idea just what I was agreeing to. When I handed him one of the songs, he said, "Grandma, it is too long, no one will listen to a rap song for 10 minutes! You don't rhyme enough either! Do you have a beat?" I said, okay, I can cut it down to what 3 minutes? I will put more rhyme in it. I have a hand drum I made, a rain stick and a rattle, is that enough? The musical instruments I mentioned wasn't what he meant!

Substance Use and Native Americans
Putting that title on the unsplash when looking for a photo, five pictures of African American people came up and this picture. What do any of them have to do with Substance Use I asked myself. The above photo is a Native American male in full regalia. Appears to be dancing. He has a significant amount of eagle feathers. Stars and Stripes, he was in the service. Medicine wheel colors. Teepees. He is an elder. There is a cross. It can mean a Christian cross and it can be the symbol for the cross that was here before Christianity. Others may notice other things too. I do not see substance use and at most powwows substance use is not allowed. You can be asked to leave.

Meditation And Guided Imagery
First put on some new age music. It is music, usually without words or loud sounds or without many differing loud rhythms. This description and similar have been around for awhile "organic form rooted in the synthesis of many different music traditions, typically blending different European, Asian, African and Latin American forms into a unique style." I discovered New Age music in the 70's, even though it was around a long time before that. Someone on Wikipedia says: "New Age music is intended to create artistic inspiration, relaxation, and optimism. It is used by listeners for yoga, massage, meditation, and reading as a method of stress management... "

Is It An Eating Disorder?
I was young when I thought I was fat. I am not sure what age. My mother was a pill person and thought there was a pill for everything. She took vitamin V(valium) when they first came out and were popular. That is until they were deemed an addictive substance. She took diet pills when she was pregnant with the two siblings just younger than me. She told me her doctor didn't want her gaining too much weight, like when she was pregnant with her first child. Me.

The Rub In This Trip
I have driven through Nashville. I always thought I would go back and attend some music events. I thought I may go there with my husband, who listens to primarily old country. He is not much of a fan of new country. So, I am not really sure that he will like Nashville. Well, that is not true. Maybe I am trying to make excuses for not going with him before now. Or even not going with him now. He would probably love it and that is the rub!! Will this be rubbing him the wrong way. I spoke with him and he did not seem to care one way or the other. Is it because we have no definite plans yet? Is it that he really doesn't care and would not want to spend money going to Nashville. He tells me he is content staying home and doing the things he does here. If we had lots of money, he wouldn't mind going to Hawaii once.
