Who Am I?
I keep asking myself. I spent half of my life as a single mother. Pushing myself to be the strong independent individual that I have always been. My kids have grown and my life seems turned upside down.
I now search to find myself!

Capture the Wild
I captured this picture on my smart phone, I was just lucky enough to have it with me. It was charged and had space available in the memory. No edits needed. Deciding which picture captures him the best... was probably the hardest decision for me during this entire process.

Am I Transparent
Brown It's the color of my eyes, the color of my hair, and the one feature that's the most noticeable the color of my skin. In the winter when I'm not outside in the sun, or when my health declines and I end up anemic again. I'm not as brown, but still don't fit in. It's my features, and my ethnicity that shines through. When my brown skin makes me feel transparent. As I continue to be unheard. I raise my voice to advocate for our people, screaming that we are still here! Although, I may be the only one in the room with all the knowledge on a topic. I'm still questioned of my capabilities, because my skin is brown. No matter what I'll always love my brown skin, and be proud of my heritage! I just hope and pray that one day my brown skin isn't the reason I end up dead!
