Folasade Olupitan, known as her staged name No5hade and she’s originally from Nigeria. Growing Up with No5hade Growing up she always felt different. No5hade states, “I didn’t quite fit in with the. “Cool kids” or the athletes or the nerds. I was kind of my own group. I was always a mix of everything. I played on the cheese team in middle school, ran track and played basketball in high school, and even tried my luck in the French club after school. As I grew older, I became to enjoy the fact that I didn’t fit in any of society’s already made boxes. I was made different. This became more evident as I ventured into my musical journey. My love for rap music pushed me to began diving deep into my own abilities. From rap to R&B. And from R&B to Afrobeat. The love of rap turned into the love of music and it allowed me to express my “different-ness” to the world.
