Running the Gauntlet
It's the same thing every winter. Approaching the earliest days of December, all the way through February, I endure a mental and physical trial. My birthday is January 11th. Maybe 1/11 means something to those who believe in astrology, but to me.. it speaks only to the personal challenge I face every year in the approach to, and recovery from that date.

Fifteen Pounds of Dead Mice
If walls could talk, you might decide to live in a yurt or a teepee. I was fresh as a daisy when I came to be. Not a common phrase these days, but I was strong, stable and over the course of it all, I helped shelter 137 people. Almost one person for every year I'd been here.

Flip the Script
How do I do this? I could be trite and say: Just trust in yourself. I don’t imagine that would make a very good story. Instead, I’m going to tell you about a person who I worked with for a few years. He was the most aggravating person I’ve ever known. Looking back, I used the term hateful to describe having to work with him on occasion.
