'House Of The Dragon': Why Rhaenys Chose Not To Kill The Greens
WARNING! SPOILERS for House of the Dragon 1x09, 'The Green Council'. War is coming. In the penultimate episode of House of the Dragon's first season, we learn that King Viserys has finally succumbed to the flesh-eating disease he has been battling for most of the series, and tragically, a misunderstanding of Viserys's final words has left his wife, Alicent, believing he wants their son Aegon to succede him, rather than his oldest daughter, and Alicent's childhood friend, Princess Rhaenyra. This is music to the ears of Alicent's Father Otto, who had been secretly planning to crown Aegon anyway, regardless of the late King's wishes.

'House Of The Dragon': Why It Is Customary For Taragaryens To Inter-Marry
WARNING: SPOILERS for House of the Dragon 1x07. Sometimes, the rules of Westeros can be confusing. While in Game of Thrones, the incestuous love story of Jaime and Cersei Lannister would have meant their deaths had it become common knowledge, the most recent prequel series House of the Dragon has Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen marrying her Uncle, Prince Daemon, and Rhaenyra's half-siblings Aegon and Helaena betrothed to each other, without anyone batting an eye.

'House Of The Dragon': A History Of The Curse Of Harrenhal
WARNING! SPOILERS for House of the Dragon 1x06, 'The Princess and The Queen'. Ever since the day the great stone castle of Harrenhal was completed, many of the people of Westeros have considered it cursed, and for good reason. Lords who take the seat of Harrenhal are prone to meeting an unfortunate end, or facing otherwise bad luck, sometimes before even setting foot inside the castle itself. While it has not often been discussed onscreen, we saw the bad luck associated with Harrenhal throughout Game Of Thrones, and we are seeing it again in the series' prequel, House of The Dragon, through the recent tragic fate of Lord Lyonel Strong and his eldest son, Harwin.

'House Of The Dragon': Why Queen Alicent's Grand Entrance May Be The Most Pivotal Moment Of The Series So Far
WARNING! SPOILERS for House Of The Dragon 1x05, 'We Light The Way'. Any Game Of Thrones fan will know that nothing good happens at a wedding in Westeros. It is far more likely for the event to end in tragedy than with the couple happily wed. Game Of Thrones prequel House Of The Dragon continues this unfortunate tradition.
