My family has moved on without me
I’ve been left out by my family. I sit back and watch as their lives move on while I’m stuck on repeat - working a mostly mundane, thankless job, staying up late to try to reclaim some hours to myself, overeating to comfort myself, zoning out to a Netflix show I’m half interested in - waking up to repeat the cycle all over again. A part of me asks, “what am I doing? I’ve been here before. I thought I overcame this.” The truth is that I’m slipping back into old habits. Why is this happening? It’s because I have no stable grounding. I am a master of none. I have no expertise in anything. My days are taken up by my very own black mirror I keep with me at all times. Scrolling endlessly, losing track of time, losing any coherent thought…losing any motivation or inspiration to dive deep into a hobby or learn something new.

How to Be Unavailable Without Guilt
If there's anything I've learned to "level up" in these past years, it's about setting healthy boundaries and when to set them. I can't stress how important it is to reset and recharge your own energy and be intentional with your time in order to be productive -- I'm constantly reminded by the popular saying, "You can't fill up someone else's cup if yours is empty."

New Year, Better Me
At the start of every year, I’m always generally hopeful for the possibility of bettering myself. I don’t even want to call it New Year's resolutions, but instead, just put simply, goals. Whether it be accomplishing my personal goals of reading more books, writing, creating more art (2025 was a great year for me with all of those things!) or learning new recipes and cooking more, learning about eating healthy and exercise – there’s something I’ve learned that really makes a difference in whether these goals will be met or not. That’s by being realistic.

Please Hold for a Moment of Girl Talk. Top Story - November 2025.
I think there's something so special about girl friendships - the relationships that just feel so fruitful, the ones that refresh you and don't drain you, and the friendships that can pick up right where they left off, even if you're not physically close. These are the ones to hold on to and to really nourish. These are the types of friendships I'm intentional about giving my time and energy to.

The Illusion of Right vs. Left: A Stage Set for Division. Content Warning.
I don’t know about you dear reader, but personally I feel as though things have been ramping up these past few years. From the political unrest and division, the uprising of deplorable hate crimes, to the sudden slow drip of disclosure about what our government and the 3-letter agencies are doing behind the public’s back, and add in the complete distrust of the mainstream media (who are run by only 5 major corporations) and you have a mix of many dark things that are coming out into the light. The veil is being lifted.

The Death of Journalism: How Activists Killed a Once Noble Profession
When I was in college from 2008 to 2012, I lived and breathed journalism. CNN was always on my TV screen in my dorm room. Anderson Cooper and Erin Burnett were my idols. My passion and excitement for what my future held was palpable – from finding the story, writing it, editing it, producing the images for print and going out to get the video footage (then coming back and editing that for a news package) to air for the campus news network was my daily grind. I couldn’t wait to graduate, feeling prepared that my school had done its due diligence in preparing me for the real working world of news media.

Fatherless: The Breakdown of a Society
Aggression, violence, rape, murder, war - they all have one thing in common: men. This is all the stuff of “toxic masculinity,” right? Some will tell you that the solution is obvious: make men less toxic. Make them less masculine and neuter them so that they are more like women.

The Power of a Woman: Embracing Our Identity, Strength, and Value
Happy Women’s History Month! We have a lot to talk about. Womanhood is a multifaceted and deeply personal experience that transcends biological differences. Being a woman encompasses a rich tapestry of identity, strength, and empowerment, shaped by diverse cultures, societies, and individual stories. It’s in these lived experiences, from girlhood to womanhood, that allows us to step into our identity and our strength. In exploring what it means to be a woman, we must consider the unique challenges, triumphs, and new complexities women are facing today, including being erased.

Bullying Means He Likes You! (And Other Lies)
I’m not sure who needs to hear this, but there’s a dangerous misconception that bullying equals affection. I’m not talking about playful teasing with your friends, I’m talking about actual harassment and bullying behavior. Especially if you grew up in the public school system, I’m sure you or someone you know has experienced some level of bullying or teasing when you were younger.
