Taking Back My Power At Last: Update
Greetings, Vocal readers and subscribers. Two months ago, I wrote a story discussing my personal struggles of standing up for myself and the things I was seeking for almost two years. In case you're not familiar or don't know the situation that has haunted me since 2022, I'll fill you in. I went without a raise at work for almost two years, despite all of my hard work and surviving a global pandemic. I was also seeking more hours. For two years, I was stressed and had sleepless nights. It was almost like my voice wasn't heard and I got increasingly frustrated. I remember one day on my way home from work that I threw a huge fit, because no one was listening to me or my concerns. Don't get wrong. I love my job and the people I work with. I just didn't like being frequently undermined and disrespected. I wanted to discuss these issues with someone, but it seemed like it every time that I attempt to, there was always something that comes up. Finally, one day, I decided to have the courage and talk to someone about the things that I was going through and had bothered me for so long. A date for a meeting was scheduled and I was ready. I was nervous, but I felt like I needed to do this to get some things off my chest and also, finally put this year's long painful chapter behind me.

The Most Hated Figure in Major League Baseball. Content Warning.
When you think of who the most despised player in Major League Baseball history was, which name comes to mind? Roger Clemens? Barry Bonds? Jose Canseco? This former MLB player that I'll be talking about in this story is a name that you may or may not be familiar with. He's former Atlanta Braves relief pitcher John Rocker. Rocker was born on October 17, 1974, meaning that as of 2024, he's 50 years old. He played for four different teams: the aforementioned Braves, the Cleveland Indians (now Guardians), Texas Rangers, and Tampa Bay Devil Rays (now known as simply the Tampa Bay Rays).

American League Division Winner Predictions for 2025
It's the offseason. The feeling when there's no baseball. However, on the bright side, Spring Training is less than two months away. Just because it's the offseason, it doesn't mean that we can't look ahead to 2025. I'll talk about not only who would win each division, but my thoughts on each selection. We're going to start with the American League first.

The Art of Being Thankful
Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and we all have at least one thing that we're thankful for. The past six years has been difficult for me: struggling with mental health issues and homelessness, the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, the death of my beloved grandfather, and dealing with self-doubt and self-esteem issues. Despite all of this, I've managed to persevere and overcome those obstacles. In this story, I'm going to share some of the things that I'm thankful and also grateful for.

The Release of the 2025 Baseball Hall of Fame Ballot
Recently, the 2025 Baseball Hall of Fame ballot was released. The candidates who are selected to be part of the 2025 Hall of Fame class will be inducted in Cooperstown on July 25, 2025. According to the Baseball Hall of Fame's website, players can be on the ballot for up to 10 years if they receive at least five percent of the vote. My Thoughts About the Texas Rangers in 2024
The 2024 World Series has come and went. Unfortunately, the Rangers quest of repeating as champs didn't go as planned. They ended up finishing the season with a record of 78-84, which they placed third in the AL West behind the Mariners and Astros, who would end up winning the division. I'm not upset, but it's not surprising either. It's hard to repeat when you are the defending World Series Champions. Yes, there's always expectations for doing such of a thing. There hasn't been a team that hasn't done such a feat since the New York Yankees back in 2000. That was also the last time they completed the three-peat, winning three World Series titles in a row from 1998-2000. In the case of the Texas Rangers, they've fallen victim to the so-called "World Series hangover." If you're not familiar with that, it's when a team who has won a World Series title the year before and then end up doing poorly the following season, missing the playoffs. It's an unfortunate category to be part of, but it's a real thing. The Rangers aren't the first team to do this, and they won't be the last. Like the old saying goes, "There's always next year."

Brace Yourselves...A New Console Is Coming in 2025
A new year means a new game console is set to be released. I was recently tagged in a Instagram post by a friend regarding the Analogue 3D. At first, I thought it was fake and couldn't be real. As a creator on Vocal, I make sure I verify everything to make sure the facts and a story are 100% accurate. So yes, what you see above is an actual console.

The Greatest Man of All Time
Dear Grandpa, Thank you for being such a wonderful grandparent towards me. I am and will always be proud to be your grandson. I thank you and also the good Lord above for helping me become the man that I am today. I'll always remember the good times we've had together. You've taught me valuable lessons, such as treating others with kindness, compassion, and respect. I'm the spitting image of you, according to most people. It's because I was born to follow your own example of kindness and compassion. Regardless of if I did the right or wrong things, you'd always love me unconditionally. I've received the love that my own "dad" refused to show towards me growing up. You have been the true father figure that I have and will always look up to. I'm blessed to have a grandparent who never gave up on me when everyone else did. To me, you're my hero.

Incoming Dallas Cowboys Rant
I probably shouldn't do this, but I'm about to go on a heated, yet calm rant about my beloved team, the Dallas Cowboys. After their blowout loss to their rivals, the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night, I felt like I have to vent and get a lot of stuff off my chest. America's Team has been so infuriating to watch every single year. Winning the NFC East titles are nice, but they always end up falling short in the Wild Card round. In case you didn't know, the Cowboys haven't won a Super Bowl since 1995. So, for almost 30 years, they've been nothing but mediocre, unmotivated, and lack a sense of urgency. It's like this team lack heart. I understand what this team is currently going through, but something has got to change and fast. How many more one and dones and awful seasons are Cowboys fans willing to tolerate?

35 Years of Retro Gaming
Retro gaming: it's more than just a hobby. For many of us who love it, it's a way of life and also, it's a part of pop culture. Recently, I watched a news segment on YouTube from a month ago and they were talking about how old school gaming was getting popular again. First of all, it never lost any popularity or waned. Retro gaming was popular back then and it'll continue to be exactly that for the foreseeable future.
