The Music of The Glacier
Falling Into Sigur Rós I once heard the music of Sigur Rós described as glacial, but in a very positive way. The band hail from Reykjavík, Iceland so that is probably not an unexpected description. All their songs are sung entirely in the constructed language Hopelandic (or Vonlenska in Icelandic)., but sound absolutely beautiful.

My Blondie Playlist
Some Blondie Favourites As usual, this one won’t be a greatest hits list, there are plenty of Blondie compilations about and you probably have one in your collection, but these are just a few songs that are my favourites in the Blondie Canon.

Alt Pandora's Box
According to Hesiod, when Prometheus stole fire from heaven, Zeus, the king of the gods, took vengeance by presenting Pandora to Prometheus' brother Epimetheus. Pandora opened a jar left in her care containing sickness, death and many other unspecified evils which were then released into the world, but what if Pandora’s Box or Jar contained nothing but good things. I know hope was there at the bottom, but I feel that often humanity looks for the worst things.

Once Were Dragons
This is for the Vocal Fantasy Prologue Challenge and here we go... Once Were Dragons There weren't always dragons in the Valley. When they came we were frightened, but they became our friends and protectors. We don't know where they came from, some said deep in the earth, others from the Far South or North or the Burning Desert. Now though they were turned to stone and breathed fire no more.

Walking With Felines
First Steps A doctor recently said to another doctor in a letter that I was in great physical shape and was very fit. Given that this was someone talking to another professional about me I took it as a compliment. The reason I am in this state is not because I go to the gym or do any kind of formal training, I really don’t have the discipline for that, but I don’t mind taking walks, sometimes quite long ones. This started a few years back walking to work and then discovering lots of new things such as the CHAT Trust phoenix.

Moondance by Van Morrison
The Aftermath of Astral Weeks I recently wrote a piece on “Astral Week”s by Van Morrison. The New Musical Express said that it was one of the top ten rock albums but Moondance was even better, so did that mean that two of his albums were in the top ten.
