"Evil" Queen: Vampire Hunter. Runner-Up in Legends Rewritten Challenge.
Artemisia, newly Queen of Schwarzwald, saw the signs in her step-daughter immediately. The current beauty trents might tend toward fairness and red lips, but not like this. Skin as white as freshly-fallen snow, without even a pink tinge at the cheeks. One might be tempted to call it a deathly pallor, had the young princess not been witnessed running and laughing like any child might be expected...

Once More Into The Breech
It's been almost a year since I last weighed in on how Vocal could keep ahead of it's competitors in the market. To my great surprise - it does feel like I'm typing into a void some days - Vocal actually adopted a few of my suggestions, like the new Vocal App and changes to how User Profile Pages appear, now giving people the option to view by category.

Whether you’re grieving because you were already a staunch monarchist, because you met her in person and liked her, because you feel like the loss of someone who has been present your entire life is one more instability in an already rocky time, or whatever other reason: your feelings are valid, and you have my compassion for your sense of loss.

Companion Calamities
It's been fifteen years since my dog passed away from old age, but I still have the memories. In 1993, my Aunt's Border Collie, Aurora, was pregnant, and she offered us first pick of the litter, once they were weaned. We also got to stay up late one weekend while they were born, but our parents hauled us home at around midnight.
