How the Earth came to be blue
At the beginning, in the time before men, the world was a vast wilderness of rock and sand: dull, flat, monotonous and uncaring. There were no trees, no flowers, no meadows, no rivers or valleys, no wind and no rain, no day, no night. Just vast empty plains and rocks sweltering under an endless Sun. The only creatures to walk the Earth were fauns. Playful, horned, hoofed, happy fauns. Watched over from the heavens above by Mother Sky and her two daughters Soul and Song.

We have just seen some fabulous stories honored in the Painted Prose Challenge and let's hope the momentum will continue. Congratulations to the deserving winners of the challenge and well done, again, to Vocal for launching the Art community. AI, psychopathy and success. Top Story - July 2023.
In the popular imagination a psychopath is a cruel and manipulative murderer, one who is cool, unfeeling and calculating in his desire to inflict suffering and pain. Characters like Hannibal the Cannibal spring to mind, or the real life American serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer. Yet not all psychopaths are killers, nor indeed violent offenders of any kind. Which is just as well when it has been estimated that between 1% and 4.5% of the general population qualify as psychopathic (Bing AI search result).

Artificial intelligence, whatever that means, has been much criticised of late. AI is a thief, a cheat, a hoax, a way of passing off another's work as your own. Worst of all, it has even been said that it will one-day bring about the extinction of the human race. As if we didn't already face enough Armageddon scenarios, from climate change to nuclear war, we now face another from AI, The Terminator.
