Discordant Sounds
There are some songs that just rub you the wrong way. It might be the tone of the singer’s voice on that particular song or how overplayed the song is. Most of the time, I dislike a song because it gets stuck in my head (thank you, ADHD) or I’ve heard it so many times that I just cannot hear it one more time.

Chaos Celebration Part Two
Reverse to Part One By the time Colin got to the hospital, Brooklyn had been taken back to a room. Fast service was an advantage to living in a small town. While the actual facility wasn’t huge, they were fully able to take care of an accident like Brooklyn’s in a timely manner. For anything more involved or critical, they were stabilized and transported to a larger hospital.

Chaos Celebration Part One. Top Story - September 2025.
“So, what are you doing this weekend?” Colin asked as he watched Lincoln begin to gather his scattered belongings. The two men had been hanging out in Brewing Books all morning while Colin waited for his shift and Lincoln worked on plotting his book.

Jonathan Swift
Jonathan Swift was born in Ireland on November 30, 1667. An influential writer of his time, he used satire to protest England’s rule of Ireland. In addition to writing, he was the dean of Saint Patrick’s Cathedral in Dublin. He wrote under pseudonyms, most likely to protect himself from the political conditions of his time and place.

You're a Librarian!
You’re landed your dream job and you are now a school librarian. But now what? First off, don’t panic. There are tons, almost too many, of resources available. Most likely you’ve completed a Master of Library Sciences and/or a school librarianship certification. (It varies from state to state what is needed to be a school librarian, but most require at least certification). This may leave you feeling very prepared or not prepared at all. I’ve found that a lot of my learning has come from on the job training. Yes, I learned things in my classes, but just like teaching (and I think a lot of other jobs), school can only prepare you so much for the real world.

A New Chapter
Reverse to Part One Lincoln spent an uncomfortable night in the only hotel in town. The room itself was fine, but he wasn’t used to the lack of noise. Or not having the ninety-five-pound weight in bed with him. So, he was tired and cranky when he got in the car to locate social services. He’d attempted to get coffee at the hotel, but the pot smelled like it’d been burned and then reheated. He just hoped he could beg for some coffee when he got to the office.

A New Chapter
A firm knock on the door broke Lincoln’s contemplation and he looked up from his computer screen. With a sigh, he pushed away from the desk. It wasn’t like he was getting anywhere with outlining his next book. He had time, some time, but pretty soon Saul, his agent, would be calling for an update and the publisher would give him a firm due date. He still didn’t want to write another book in the Shadows of the Realm series, but if he didn’t find something soon; he might have to.

Fate's Magical Mishap
Reverse to Part Two Reverse to Part One THREE When I was a child, I loved Gatherings. Unlike the rituals and holiday celebrations, Gatherings meant the entire clan. No one was worried about following the correct steps that had been handed down for more generations than anyone could count. No one stood on ceremony (except with the elders because the last thing anyone wanted to do was piss off an elder) and the relaxed atmosphere allowed different groups to interact. Everything was relaxed, including the dress code, so I wasn’t out of place in my peasant blouse and jeans.
