Because humans are greedy and lonely. We yearn for something that can transcend the bonds of blood, the prejudice of skin color, the differences of nations, the chasm of wealth, and the constraints of social norms.

One night, after work, he offered to accompany the girl on a walk because several muggings had recently occurred in the area, making it unsafe. The long, silent walk felt awkward, so the boy decided to start a conversation. This time, he didn't talk about his past but instead shared a small story.

Ever since he could remember, the boy had a peculiar superpower: he could steal a day from anyone's life. Stealing it didn't mean the owner lost that day or that the boy altered anything about it. The owner would live out that day as destiny intended, undisturbed and unaware of the theft. However, the feelings of that day would be muted because the boy had stolen them to experience himself. In essence, the boy borrowed the owner's eyes to closely observe and feel that day.
