These guys became famous and no longer needed last names because everyone knew that Paul, John, George, and Ringo were the Beatles. Then they broke up and went on to successful solo careers. Here are some of the best songs of each one of them.

Paul

Take It Away” is a song that came out as a single from his 1982 album Tug of War. The song charted on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The video for the song featured former Beatles drummer Ringo Starr.

This One” is a song released as a single from McCartney’s 1989 album Flowers in the Dirt. The song became popular and charted on the UK Singles chart.

Mull of Kintyre” is a song that was recorded with McCartney by the British rock band Wings. It was written by McCartney and Denny Laine as a tribute to the Kintyre peninsula in Argyll and Bute in the southwest of Scotland. It became Wings' biggest hit in Britain and one of the best selling singles of all time in the UK. In 1977 the song became the Christmas number one and the first single to sell over two million copies nationwide. In the US it charted on the Billboard Hot 100 and Easy Listening charts.

John

Imagine” is a popular song recorded by Lennon and featured on his 1971 album of the same name. It became the best-selling single of his solo career. The song was one of the 100 most performed songs of the 20th century and received a Grammy Hall of Fame Award.

"Instant Karma!" (also titled "Instant Karma! (We All Shine On)") is a song by Lennon where the lyrics focus on a concept in which the consequences of one’s actions are immediate rather than stretched out over a lifetime. The single was credited to Lennon/Ono and the Plastic Ono Band. The song charted in the Top Five in the British and American charts. It became the first solo single by a member of the band to sell a million copies.

"(Just Like) Starting Over" is a song that was written and performed by Lennon. It is featured on the 1980 double album Double Fantasy and went to number one in both the US and the UK. After the murder of Lennon in December 1980, the song achieved the Christmas number two position. The song was at the number one position and remains the last single Lennon released during his lifetime.

George

"Give Me Love (Give Me Peace on Earth)" is a song that was recorded by Harrison and is featured on his 1973 album Living in the Material World. The song became his second US number one and went to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It is one of Harrison's most popular songs.

"My Sweet Lord" is a song that was recorded by Harrison and is featured on this triple album, All Things Must Pass. The single was his first as a solo artist and topped charts all around the world. The single became the biggest-selling single of 1971 in the UK and the US. Harrison wrote the song in praise of the Hindu god Krishna. The RIAA certified it Gold.

"All Those Years Ago" is a song that was recorded by Harrison and is featured on his 1981 album Somewhere in England. Harrison wrote the song as a tribute to his former Beatles bandmate John Lennon following his murder. Ringo Starr played the drums and Paul McCartney along with Wings bandmates Linda McCartney and Denny Laine overdubbed backing vocals. The song charted on the Billboard Hot 100 and UK Singles charts.

Ringo

"Photograph" is a song that was recorded by Ringo and released as the lead single from his 1973 album, Ringo. The song was co-written with former Beatles bandmate George Harrison. It became a signature tune for Ringo as a solo artist.

"It Don't Come Easy" is a song that was recorded by Ringo and co-written with Harrison. They performed the song together in August 1971 at Harrison’s Concert for Bangladesh in NYC. Ringo continued to perform the song with his All-Star Band. This became his first solo single.

"No No Song" is a 1974 song recorded by Ringo, It was written by Hoyd Axton and David Jackson. It is featured on his album Goodnight Vienna. The song charted on the Billboard charts and went to number one on the Cash Box chart.
